Another Aussie house trashed from Booking.com rental
News from Victoria that should surprise no one. A house in Footscray was booked through Booking.com and then trashed. No insurance cover because it was “malicious damage”, and fake names and a fake credit card were used so no chance of the owner getting their money back. Tragic but highlights two key problems of short-term rentals – uninsured damage (imagine if it was a strata common area or the host was a tenant) and crazy parties held by out of towners.
