Airbnb makes push with real estate agents in anti-regulation fight
Seems like everyone wins when Airbnb works with Real estate agents to let tenants sublet short-term and give a cut to the owners (and everyone else). Rumour is Airbnb is trying in Aus too but no takers.
Only 23% cut for the owner is too small for the risk of getting your property trashed by an out of control party. Smart owners will look for more profitable ways to exploit the short-term rental boom.
But the point is Airbnb is trying to bring more people (owners of long-term tenancies) on to support light or no regulation. Local councils need to watch out.
