Too easy to ignore San Fran STR rules
This report is interesting from the San Fran Chronicle, showing how 14 apartments were turned into permanent short-term rentals using various tricks and loopholes. Despite the harsh rules and cooperation of major sites, it’s way too easy to do this in most cities that have laws around STRs. Regulation just isn’t effective unless it’s combined with a monitoring and enforcement system.
