Gold Coast Council: Good STR rules need enforcement to work
This is why councils need a monitoring and enforcement solution (like, ahem, BnbGuard) if they want to regulate short-term letting. Rules by themselves are too easy to ignore, and they’re getting easier to ignore. In Gold Coast just 3 properties have the proper registration. By our own stats, about 13,000 properties should be registered and aren’t.
